Mallory grew up on a farm and has been an animal lover all of her life. From taking her childhood dog to obedience classes to training a retired Pacer to be ridden, she has been involved in animal training and welfare for many years. Over the last decade, however, her life has revolved around one particular type of house pet: Cats. In 2012, she and her husband, Nate, adopted a spirited eight-week-old kitten named Pig. Little did they know, they would soon become round-the-clock caregivers to two abandoned four-week-old kittens, Olive and Arthur. From bottle feeding every four hours to warming rice-filled socks throughout the night, they had a crash course in kitten rescue when they were least expecting it. In 2017, life took another turn. Mallory and Nate decided to sell everything and travel the country in their RV… with their three cats, of course. This adventure brought even more lessons in cat ownership, including leash training, catio building, and all things enrichment. Now, Mallory lives stationary with her husband, daughter, and three beloved kitties. She spends much of her time writing about her two favorite things: travel and cats!
